This year, I became vocal against the Placer County’s Rezoning Program. Seeing the failure of the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors to provide a suitable affordable housing plan that benefitted the community, I attended almost every planning commission meeting, Board of Supervisor meetings and district MAC meetings and voiced my concerns.

While I attended these meetings, I had the pleasure to meet some amazing individuals who had the same interest as I do, “protect our community” from high density three-story cementitious apartment buildings constructed in our rural communities with little or no services made available to them.

One of those individuals is Wayne Nader. I saw Wayne at every Planning Commission meeting and the Board of Supervisor meetings I attended. I watched as he gave testimony and clearly articulated the reasons why the rezoning plan in its current form harmed Placer County residents, especially to the Auburn residents. I found him very knowledgeable and well educated in the Placer County Rezoning Plan as well as in the Environmental Impact issues regarding these large high- density buildings and what their impact would be on our community. I was impressed by his knowledge and learned quite a bit from his speeches.

Later after being introduced, I found out Wayne has been actively involved in our community with an impressive and extensive Public Service Record:

• Wayne served on the Placer County Planning Commission for 8 Years
• He served on the Placer County Audit Committee Chair for 12 years
• He served on the Board of the Local Fire District for 7 Years
• He served on the North Auburn MAC for 5 Years
• He served on the Placer Charter Review Committee

After meeting Wayne I found how genuine he is and how he has a passion for our community.

Wayne Nader has my vote for District 5 County Supervisor
